Rio Rico is an unincorporated community in Santa Cruz County, in the hills along I-19 and the Santa Cruz River, south of Tubac and north of Nogales. It was laid out as a master-planned community. Lots climb off the river onto ridges, with the Tumacácori Mountains to the west and the Santa Ritas to the northeast.

Rio Rico Land Listings

Show the Ridge, the River, and the Road Up

A Rio Rico parcel might be on a hillside cul-de-sac or on lower ground nearer the Santa Cruz. Those are different listings. The drive up from the frontage road, the grade, and the view back down the valley toward Tubac or south toward Nogales are what buyers cannot get from a plat map. Peña Blanca Lake is in the forest west of the valley, a landmark rather than the lot.
